Medical Skin Care Chemical Peels
Chemical peels do not stop or retard aging – peels do correct,
refresh and redefine aging skin
Chemical peels are a safe, effective way of removing outer layers of sun-damaged, blemished, unevenly pigmented, blotchy skin or pre-cancerous growths. These peels are available in three strengths to accomplish results at three levels of depth. Peels are another option for facial rejuvenation to promote fresh new skin growth – with the absence of blemishes, blotches and wrinkles. PCA peels are an excellent skin detoxifier.
PCA Peels and Skin Care Systems are appropriate for any problem and all skin colors and types. The peel can correct the problem, and then we customize a skin care program to continue smoothing, firming and hydrating your skin. PCA systems are created to be as “skin friendly” as possible by being “chirally correct” and quality minded. All products are alcohol, fragrance and witch hazel free. Aloe Vera serves as the base for the entire line along with anti-oxidants and free radical fighting vitamins and AHA’s.
As wonderful as chemical peels are – they cannot stop the normal effects of aging – but a good peel turns back the clock by refreshing and redefining the skin’s surface.

PCA PEELS PROCEDURE:
Chemical peels come in three different strengths – light, medium and deep. Each one is used to accomplish the individual outcomes that are needed. The Correct peel for your needs will be chosen during your personal consultation when a treatment plan will be tailored for you.
Light Peels use AHA and BHA acids (Alphahydroxy acids and Betahydroxy acids) which are the mildest form of peels, and are used to smooth rough; dry skin, to improve the texture of sun-damaged skin and mild acne. A bleaching agent can be added to correct or improve pigmentation problems and the AHA peel may be used as a pre-treatment in preparation for a TCA peel or for laser resurfacing.
Medium Peels use TCA – Tricholoracetic acid to treat skin with moderate sun damage, surface wrinkles or uneven tone and/or pigment abnormalities.
Deep peels use Phenol acid – the strongest, most effective, deepest peel used today. Phenol peels are used to smooth coarse wrinkles, remove pre-cancerous growths, treat blotchiness – and to render the most dramatic results of all the peels available.
Using the correct peel solution for your tailored treatment plan, the skin is thoroughly cleansed, you are sedated (if needed), and then the solution is applied to your skin. The solution may be left on from 15 minutes to 2 or more hours – depending upon which treatment you are getting. After the solution is removed you will see flaking, redness, dryness and over time scabbing/crusting will occur as new skin begins to replace the removed layer. With light and medium peels – you will be able to resume normal activities in 2-3 days. Deep peels involve more sloughing time and return to normal activities will vary with each patient – but usually occurs within 7-10 days. You’ll be given complete instructions about what to do at home after your peel treatment.
Not every physician or aesthetician is qualified to perform chemical peel treatments.
