Restylane™

juvederm wrinkle gel filler

Restylane is the “lunch hour” beauty treatment that restores volume and fullness to your skin while correcting moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.

Restylane® is an injectable filler from Sweden – “the land of beauties” - that gives you a natural beauty lift instantly!  With aging we lose shape and definition which creates lines and wrinkles while skin folds grow deeper and more prevalent.  CCI recommends Restylane® to his patients who want to restore facial fullness, contour and smoothness.  Restylane® is a non-animal based, naturally occurring substance in our body called - hyaluronic acid.  HA provides instantaneous, long-lasting enhancement

RESTYLANE® PROCEDURE:
Using a very tiny needle and precisely measured doses, Restylane® is injected into pre-targeted areas under your skin.  The doses are very tiny amounts so there is very little to no discomfort associated.  To optimize your comfort during this short procedure, we can anesthetize the treatment area. After treatment there slight swelling and bruising at the injection sites is normal – but this resolves quickly over a couple of days. Your results are visible immediately!

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT RESTYLANE®:

How is Restylane® made?
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance which exists in the dermis (middle layer) of the skin in every human being.  Its purpose is to provide fullness and volume to the skin.  Restylane® was the first dermal filler made from non-animal based hyaluronic acid.  This is a stable, crystal clear gel called NASHA – Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid that is bio-degradable and completely compatible with human hyaluronic acid. It is identical to that manufactured by our own bodies.

Is Restylane® really safe?
Restylane® has been in use by cosmetic surgeons since 1996 – worldwide.  There is virtually no risk of animal-based desease transmissions or allergic reaction since this is a non-animal based –fully biocompatible product. Restylane® is FDA approved.

How does Restylane® work?
After being injected - using a very tiny needle – into the mid to deep dermis, the NASHA gel adds volume and fullness which smoothes out wrinkles and folds. The gel integrates into dermal tissue, attracts and binds to water molecules and helps to maintain volume.  Your results are visible instantly!

How long do the results last?
Your results typically will last for 6 months or longer.  Results from Restylane® last twice as long as results from collagen.

Is there a difference between Botox® and Restylane®?
Botox is a neuro transmission blocker that, when injected into the muscle, causes it to relax enabling your skin to relax and wrinkles to smooth out.  Restylane® is a dermal filler made from hyaluronic acid - the same as our bodies produce.   As we age the production of it slows down causing folds and wrinkles to appear.

Is a Restylane® injection painful?
This is minimized with local anesthetic at the injection sites during treatment.  After treatment our patient’s normally are to return to work or regular activity!

How does Restylane® differ from bovine collagen?
Bovine collagen is animal-based (from cows) and may cause allergic reaction inhumans.  Pre-testing is required before receiving collagen treatments.  Restylane® is non-animal based and requires no pre-testing/ waiting and there is no risk of allergic reaction.  Also, the results from Restylane® have proven to last twice as long as those from collagen injections.

Will insurance cover Restylane® treatments?
No. Since this is a cosmetic treatment – insurance typically does not cover the cost.

Is financing available for Restylane® treatments?
Yes.  Today there are financing options.  Please ask about them in our business office.
